Bringing the classroom to you

Throughout my academic career, I have always endeavoured and achieved the best results possible and I am keen to share this enthusiasm and knowledge with students. At GCSE, I attained 12 A* grades (English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, French, Spanish, Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Religious Studies, Citizenship, and Law). For my A-Levels, I attained 3 A*s (all above 95%) in History, Geography, and Psychology.
At the University of Cambridge, I graduated with a First-Class BA Hons in History, achieving a result in the top 10% of my year group. In the summer of 2020, I graduated from The Courtauld Institute of Art with a Distinction History of Art MA (specialising in modern European art).
Aside from my qualifications, I am friendly and understanding. I always tutor with a smile but I am not afraid to push students academically. I am eager to share my passion for academia with others and this energy is reflected in my teaching style. I have worked as a teacher at several summer school courses (both within Cambridge and in Asia). Also, in summer 2020 I taught academic writing for an online summer school based in China. Thus, I have experience tutoring online and in person. Please do not be afraid to enquire about a tutorial. I look forward to speaking soon!
Currently, I am completing a PhD at Northumbria University. The PhD falls within English Literature studies, yet it also crosses over with History and History of Art.
As my academic biography demonstrates, my portfolio falls strongly within the humanities. I am confident to tutor in History (any level) (my degree was wide-ranging so let me know what syllabus you are interested in and I am sure that I can tutor), History of Art (any level), English Literature (KS3-4) (specialising in The Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, Animal Farm, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and others – again, just let me know what your syllabus is), English Language (KS3-4), Geography (any level) (I attained 100% at both GCSE and A-Level) and Psychology (any level).

I am writing to recommend Ella Rebecca Nixon for a tutoring position with Cambridge Online Tutors. Her impressive qualifications (History BA, 1st Degree Hons, Cantab) (History of Art MA, Distinction, Courtauld Institute of Art) exemplify the vast subject knowledge which she can bring to the position. It is my opinion that prospective university students will also benefit from her contemporary understanding of the Oxbridge application and studying experience. I recently observed her teaching academic writing skills to Chinese students for CSSC, and was impressed by the depth and breadth of her lessons, her engaging teaching style, and the friendliness and warmth which she extended to her tutees. I trust that she would be a wonderful addition to the Cambridge Online Tutors team.
In the last few years Ella has become much more confident. She has always had exceptional academic abilities in every subject and has confidence, responsibility, independence and initiative. She is a good listener, polite, always succinct and clear in her explanations.
Ella has undertaken work for me on an occasional basis and I have also observed her working with customers in a tea room as part of her weekend employment. She would be an asset to your tutoring programme and could be relied upon to be hard-working, dependable, polite and honest; she is also able to communicate any problems or difficulties.
I have no hesitation in recommending her to you.
