Hey there! I’m Jake, a Master in Science in Geography Graduate from the University of Durham.
I am extremely excited to tutor and share my knowledge of the following subjects with you:
– Geography (KS3-KS5)
– Biology (KS3-KS4)
– Chemistry (KS3-KS4)
– Maths (KS2-KS4).
Throughout my academic studies, I have devoted my time to gain a thorough knowledge of the natural sciences and the environment. I have an extreme passion for the subjects that I am tutoring and I am motivated to provide the skills needed for you to achieve your highest academic potential!
Away from academia, I have a keen interest in all sports and captain my local football team. I also enjoy partaking in volunteering opportunities and did so during my Silver DofE award. I have experience in helping all age ranges with their studies from primary school level mathematics to first year university student’s lab work. I am always keen to help others and I was awarded an Honorary Life Membership at my university in recognition of my services to the student community.
I am a highly approachable and friendly person that is very excited to offer syllabus focused lessons, while allowing you to gain an appreciation of the importance of these subjects in every day life. My lessons will be fun and rewarding and I aim to provide everything you need to ace those exam questions!

I am writing to support Jake’s application to Cambridge Online Tutors. From October 2016 – June 2020, Jake was an undergraduate member of Grey College. Here he was heavily involved in the life of the College: playing and captaining the men’s football team, and coaching one of the women’s teams. He worked on the bar committee and was the elected student bar manager for one year. In addition, he was a Fresher Helper in 2017, helping to welcome new students to the college. In 2019, he was awarded an honorary life membership to the college in recognition of outstanding services to the Grey College Junior Common Room. Throughout all of this he was very reliable and hardworking. I have no hesitation in recommending him for such a role.
Dr Peter Swift (Vice-Master of Grey College)
Jake would make an excellent tutor with Cambridge Online Tutors. Not only is he diligent, hard working and highly organised, never missing a deadline, he also is highly approachable, personable and patient, making him ideal for a tutoring role. He is an excellent communicator who can not only articulate his thoughts to a high level, but share them with others in a clear and concise manner.
Over the course of the seven years I taught Jake Humanities and Geography he stood out across the board as one of the top students. He has an undeniable enthusiasm for Geography that is evident both inside and outside of the classroom. He has shown commitment to residential fieldwork, completing his IB Geography Internal Assessment component to the highest level and in his pastime he completed the SG098 ‘Science: the weather’ Open University course. It must be said that he has always had a flair for Geography, and this was recognised in the highly prestigious Geography Prize he was awarded before he graduated from Dartford Grammar School in 2016.
Jake is a mature, responsible and reliable young man, and I am confident he will demonstrate himself to be an excellent role model to his pupils. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him as a tutor with Cambridge Online Tutors.
