I have known Miss Erin McLaughlin for one year as an undergraduate student in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at Queen’s University Belfast. I have been involved in her studies in the capacity of module lecturer. Erin has just completed her first year of the BSc Mathematics program and based on the grades she has attained thus far from her first year of study she is scoring at the high first class honours level. Erin has already mastered a broad range of mathematical and physical concepts. She studies all branches of mathematics, applied, pure and statistics and operational research, and has excelled at all three. Her academic ability in mathematics and problem solving is quite broad. Erin has also gained other skills at Queen’s University. She presents orally with a confident manner as some of her modules comprised a presentation component, she writes reports with ease and clarity and can use software and work with computers easily. All of these skills are embedded into our degree programmes at all levels. Erin has an excellent work ethic and applies herself consistently throughout her studies. Her attendance record is exemplary and her handing in of course work and problem sheets is excellent.
I strongly recommend her as a mathematics tutor and believe she will make an excellent educator and mentor. If you need any further information then please do not hesitate in contacting me.
I have known Erin for seven years in my role as her Form Teacher in St Cecilia’s College . During that time I have found Erin to be of an extremely pleasant disposition , sociable, reliable and trustworthy. Erin has excellent time management skills and is highly motivated.
She always mixed well with the other pupils and showed that she can work independently and also that she can work as part of the team without compromising on quality. Erin has a natural flair for Art and the quality of her written work even from a very young age is exceptional.
Erin demonstrates very good interpersonal skills and can take these into roles / responsibilities. A highly committed individual, Erin can meet deadlines as required without fuss or stress. Her attendance and punctuality are excellent as well. I would have no hesitation in recommending her to any prospective employer.
