Hi, I’m Lizzie! I’m a first class chemistry graduate from the University of St Andrews. I am an enthusiastic tutor and the subjects I teach include: Chemistry KS3-5, Biology KS3-5, Physics KS3-4, Maths KS3-4.
I possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, developed in my role as president of a university club, and would love to utilise these abilities to not only teach but to engage students with science.
I recently graduated from the University of St Andrews with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Chemistry. I have a very strong scientific background with A-levels in Chemistry (A*), Biology (A), Maths (A) and an AS-level in Physics (A). I obtained 10 A* GCSEs (including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths, Further Maths) and 4 A’s.

Lizzie performed very well in all aspects of her degree. She is a very talented experimentalist having achieved excellent grades and feedback in her laboratory work. She has a natural enthusiasm for chemistry which is always apparent within conversation. Her experimental work was always very high quality and carried out safely and efficiently.
Lizzie has excellent time-keeping skills and is very good at forward planning. This was evident when Lizzie was part of my group for her 3rd year mini-project. Lizzie always had a plan of the goals for the day and would motivate the team in order to achieve these goals. Lizzie worked very well as part of the team. She was able to give direction to others and take direction equally well to contribute to a very cohesive team dynamic.
Lizzie is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable person who has consistently shown her motivation and passion for the pursuit of knowledge through her studies. She has achieved an outstanding number of first-class grades in individual modules such as Mechanism in Organic Chemistry and Advanced Main Group Chemistry.
Lizzie is a very kind, patient, and resilient person who always strives to give her best to every situation. She is very friendly, personable and very easy to get along with.
I have no hesitation in recommending Lizzie as a tutor.
Yours faithfully (to an unknown)
Dr Brian A. Chalmers
Overall I really enjoyed working with Lizzie. She is a positive, organised and conscientious individual who quickly understood the project she was set. She worked well with my other group members who supported her as she got up to speed on the practical aspects of her project. She was excellent at communicating the results of her work and gave a highly accomplished talk which held the audience’s attention and talked them through several complex issues. She made a real success of her studies at St Andrews and I therefore believe she will do a very good job for you as well.
I strongly recommend her to you.
