Maths and Physics KS3-5
I’m a first-year Linguistics student but I have had a very strong interest in Maths and Physics for most of my life. I’ve attended a few National Team Maths Challenges but as a Linguistics student, I no longer get to do much Maths and Physics so I’m tutoring so I can help people with what is too often perceived as a complex subject for “smart people”.
My A-Levels are in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics.

Tabassum is a fantastic role model; she is organised and patient, good humoured and kind, independent of thought and willing to challenge ideas. She is an able physicist, with excellent knowledge of the concepts she is expected to understand and a very broad interest beyond that scope. It was clearly and immediately apparent to me from the beginning of the two year A level course that she is a high ability polymath and that conversations or discussions with her would be interesting and challenging for everyone involved – it was always a pleasure to take part in them. As part of the enrichment we offered was the opportunity to be part of an outreach Physics Roadshow, where a team of sixth form students planned and presented a selection of interesting demonstrations to a large group of Year 5 and 6 pupils, explaining the physics to them in terms they could understand; Tabassum really shone in this activity – she has a natural ability for explaining complex ideas in a simple manner, using appropriate terminology and adapting her explanation depending on the reaction of the audience. In my experience, this is a rare talent, and I recommend her to you unreservedly.

I had the pleasure of teaching Tabassum A level Economics for two years at King Edward VI High School. During that time I found her to be an engaged, conscientious and highly intelligent student. Tabassum was extremely articulate and she would contribute well to lessons; often demonstrating a degree of insight beyond her years. She had an excellent understanding of the subject and she had the rare ability to think laterally and imaginatively about most topics. Tabassum communicates well and she is extremely concise in her answers to questions, always honing in on the important points of detail. She works hard and is very focussed on whatever she turns her attention to. Being a dynamic and imaginative person, Tabassum always completes tasks on time and to a high standard and she will go the extra mile in helping others understand difficult concepts. She is reliable and committed and she also possesses an excellent sense of humour. I wholeheartedly recommend her to you.
