SUBJECTS TAUGHT: Key Stage 3-5 Business Studies & Key stage 5 Religious Studies
Hi! I am a second-year student at the University of Bristol studying International Business Management BSc. I have a great passion for Business having studied it since all the way back at GCSE and l am looking to hopefully pursue a career in it.
At A-Level I studied Business Studies for which I received an A* grade as well as Mathematics and Religious Studies for which I achieved A’s in both. At GCSE I achieved 5 A*’s and 5 A’s overall. I have chosen to tutor Business Studies and Religious Studies for two main reasons:
– I have a strong passion and interest in both!
– I understand how knowledge alone in both of these subjects cannot achieve the highest marks. The ability to analyse and evaluate concepts and arguments is really key to being a top student.
As a tutor, I will not only develop your knowledge of your chosen subject but I will also show you how to look deeper into concepts and how to evaluate them using both your own opinion and evidence. When I was studying at GCSE and A-Level I wish I had known earlier on the importance of this particularly when it came to completing practice examination questions. In our lessons, I will aim to get you to question a lot of the theories and concepts that we will examine together so that hopefully by the time you get to your exam, you have already explored the question that will be asked!
Hope I can be of help!

I had the pleasure of teaching philosophy and ethics for A level. He has an excellent work ethic and created amazing notes on all topics using wider reading. He was always at the centre of class discussions and has excellent analytical abilities. Lorne is passionate about learning and will be excellent in teaching others. With his excellent work ethic, he will create stimulating lessons which will be of the highest standard.
I recommend Lorne most highly for the position of personal tutor.

I am happy to provide a reference for Lorne as his Academic Personal Tutor and also as Unit Director for one of his courses, here in the School of Management.
Lorne is a polite, engaged and conscientious student. He regularly participates in class discussion and listens to the perspectives of others carefully. Lorne is always very well prepared for tutorial discussions and punctual.
Academically Lorne is very strong. Whilst he is just entering his second year of studies and so has not yet completed any assessments he successfully passed all his Year One exams. Entry to University of Bristol is highly competitive and Lorne joined us on the basis of a very strong academic performance at A Level.
Lorne always comes across as a popular student amongst his peers. I am confident that he would excel as a business studies tutor given his clear academic abilities and personable outlook.
