 My Qualifications:

Hi! I'm Kas. I have recently finished my degree in History of Art from the University of Oxford. My thesis ‘Visual Poetry? Postcards by Wislawa Szymborska’ has been approved for publication in a monograph on Szymborska’s work (Harrassowitz, Frankfurt). I studied modules with a strong focus on the Western canon of art between 11th-21st centuries, thus enabling me to tutor younger students of art history on any period and geographic area of their curriculum.

I would also make an excellent tutor in English literature, sociology and psychology. I regularly revisit the texts which I studied for A level literature – Othello, A Streetcar Named Desire, Frankenstein, the Handmaid’s Tale, the poetry of John Keats, and Poems of the Decade. My final sociology exam scores ranked in the top 1% of the country (AQA). I have taken the following modules: Education, Crime and Deviance, Theory and Methods, Families and Households, the Media. The modules I have taken in psychology (AQA) were: social influence, memory, attachment, psychopathology, approaches, biopsychology, relationships, schizophrenia, aggression, research methods, issues and debates. I would be keen to learn new material to suit the specific needs of my prospective students.

In 2022 I collaborated with my old secondary school to launch an 8-week extracurricular course on the humanities. This involved weekly seminars focused on particular issues and debates in the field. I curated reading lists for students and gave short-lectures on each week’s topic. This was also an access project, aiming to encourage students to think about further and higher education. In order to make learning more accessible, each week’s reading and discussion focused on a piece of popular culture that the students would find entertaining to engage with analytically.

I would be open to tutoring in Polish language for GCSE, A-level, and university levels.
