 My Bio

 My Experience:

Hi! My name is Leah. I am an experienced tutor with a year of experience tutoring A Level and GCSE Psychology and English Language. Working with younger students in English and drama classes while at sixth form, placement in a number of educational setting as part of my degree and my job running holiday clubs for students with SEN gives me a range of experience working with children of all ages and needs.

Currently, I am studying Educational Psychology. I am passionate about this subject as I believe that understanding the science behind learning is essential for creating inclusive and accessible education. Within my degree, I study neurodivergent learning and the impact of learning differences on students. As a result, I am very aware of the need for a personalised approach to be taken to tutoring.

As a student who previously experienced exam anxiety and had little understanding of how to revise effectively, I can use my own experience of overcoming this and finding effective revision strategies to help students reach their goals. This has made me a relaxed and empathetic tutor who looks to find what works for individual students by listening to their needs and aims.

In a typical session, we will work towards a specific learning objective using a range of different teaching methods. Methods used will be personalised and therefore sessions will be made engaging for students to keep high levels of motivation.
