 My Experience:

I combine my practical first-hand knowledge of the IB, GCSE, ELAT, and admissions process with the tutoring ethos that studying literature can benefit students across all subjects. Learning to think critically about literature and the humanities is invaluable for any aspiring student as it encourages curiosity and strengthens communication. I have tutored students of all levels of proficiency in English, and strive to make what can be a daunting application process more accessible, and even an opportunity for growth!

Hi, my name is Momoko, and I am a recent graduate in English Literature from the University of Oxford. I am fluent in Japanese and English, and have studied classical, medieval, and modern Japanese literature alongside my high school and university studies. I experienced many different schooling systems, from MYP, to GCSE, to IB, and the Japanese state curriculum - this helped me become a flexible student myself, and helped me when tutoring students moving between systems. Having a deep cultural awareness of both countries has also informed my academic interests: my undergraduate dissertation focussed on the influence of Japanese medieval women's writing on 20th Century modernism. I am currently finishing my MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies, with a focus on medieval Latin, and Middle English.
