 Lesson Details

I offer friendly, engaging and personalised English lessons for KS1 and KS2 students, helping children build strong literacy foundations while becoming more confident in their reading and writing.

Lessons are tailored to each child’s age, ability and individual needs. I break down challenging areas into simple steps and use examples, discussion and practice to help children develop a stronger understanding of the subject.

Confidence plays a huge role in learning. Lessons will therefore be supportive and encouraging, creating an environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again.

Whether your child needs additional support, wants to strengthen their foundations or would benefit from an extra challenge, lessons will be adapted to help them make steady progress.

My Subjects

 My Experience:

I am a medical student at Lancaster University with a strong academic background in Biology, Chemistry and English, and a genuine passion for helping students achieve their goals.

I have several years of experience supporting students, including working as a Literacy Mentor with 5-7 year olds, where I provided one-to-one and group support with reading, comprehension, phonics and writing.

I have also worked as a university peer mentor, helping students transition into university and supporting them through the challenges of their first year of Medicine. This included helping students adapt to university life, manage their workload, organise their studies and develop effective approaches to learning.

Alongside my teaching and mentoring experience, I have worked as a GP Assistant for a year. This role has strengthened my communication, organisation and interpersonal skills through working directly with patients and healthcare professionals. I regularly take brief patient histories and basic observations, explain treatment procedures and help patients understand the next steps in their care. I believe these skills translate directly into tutoring, particularly when breaking down difficult topics, communicating clearly and adapting explanations to different learners.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, patient and personalised. I aim not only to help students understand a subject, but also to build their confidence and develop effective study skills that they can use independently.

Whether you need support with Biology, Chemistry, English, exam preparation, study techniques or adjusting to the demands of university and Medicine, I am happy to tailor sessions around your individual needs and goals.
