As someone with a learning difficulty, I have long realised that my brain works differently from many of my peers. Because of this, I sometimes struggled to thrive in conventional, rigid classroom environments.

I began tutoring while still completing my GCSEs and quickly realised that the challenges I faced were common to many students. There are countless ways to learn, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. I incorporate this principle into every tutoring session. My goal is to help students gain the confidence and self-belief to find learning methods that work for them. If a particular approach isn’t effective, I encourage them to try new strategies rather than sticking to a method chosen by someone else.

Over the years, I have seen the impact of this approach. From my very first student—who had been permanently excluded and had months without schooling—to my current students, I have witnessed significant improvements in both confidence and results in just a few months.

I have tutored students from Key stage 2-5, crafting lessons tailored to each student. My sessions incorporate techniques such as active recall, spaced repetition, past paper practice, mark scheme analysis, and error tracking, among others.

Open communication with both the student and their parents is vital to me, so we can work together as a team toward clear goals. With years of tutoring experience and a genuine love for helping students succeed, I strive to make each session engaging and confidence-boosting.
