 Lesson Details

I hold a Distinction in MSc Empires, Colonialism and Globalisation from the LSE and am completing my PGCE at the University of Cambridge, so I teach History the way it is actually assessed at A-level: as an argument, not a story. Sessions focus on the skills that separate a B from an A*: building a line of argument and sustaining it, weighing evidence rather than describing it, handling interpretations and historiography with confidence, and evaluating sources for provenance and utility instead of summarising them. I work directly from your specification and past mark schemes, and we spend real time on timed writing, essay planning and reworking previous answers so improvement is visible on the page. I also help with coursework and NEA work, from question design through to referencing. Lessons are tailored to where you are now and what the exam demands by the summer.

My Subjects

 My Experience:

I am a history and law tutor with a first-class LLB from Aston University and a Distinction in MSc Empires, Colonialism and Globalisation from the LSE, and I am currently completing my PGCE at the University of Cambridge. I have tutored A-level and GCSE History, A-level Law, Sociology and Economics, working with students both one-to-one and in small seminar groups. My teaching focuses on building the analytical and essay-writing skills that examiners actually reward, structuring an argument, using evidence precisely, and knowing what each mark scheme is looking for. I enjoy making demanding material feel manageable, and I tailor each session to where a student is and where they need to be by exam day.

 My Qualifications:

LLB (Hons Law) - First Class - Aston University
Empires Colonialism and Globalisation - Distinction - London School of Economics
PGCE Secondary (History) - Cambridge University
